The Opportunity
The position of Connectivity Specialist is within our Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Disease business unit and can be based in major metropolitan area with the ability to travel in the US and to Lake Forest, IL.
This role involves working collaboratively to support initiatives and projects in alignment with the Marketing Manager – Connectivity and the Director of Technical Field Operations.
Key responsibilities include tracking and trending POC Link implementations nationally, enhancing POC Link customer reporting capabilities, and supporting long-term connectivity and middleware projects for the ID NOW instrument. Additionally, the role requires creating tools and best practices for the Technical Consultant team to assist with connections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of connectivity systems.
From a customer perspective, the Connectivity Specialist will provide information and guidance during the sales process as needed, support initial connectivity projects from a field perspective, troubleshoot connectivity issues in collaboration with Technical Support, and offer ongoing product support for RALS, RALS LiNK, and POC Link systems. This blend of responsibilities necessitates a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong customer service abilities.
What You’ll Work On
Manage and support tracking and trending of field metrics towards connectivity goals for POC Link.
Create team-specific tools for the implementation, support, and management of POC Link to ID NOW.
Utilize Salesforce.com, PowerBI, and other reporting tools to generate reports and key performance indicator data for ID NOW and POC Link.
Develop processes, tracking, tools, and documentation for successful rollout and implementation of software updates for ID NOW.
Collaborate with R&D to understand and train the technical team on new software updates and their customer impact.
Support initial connectivity projects for customers interfaced to an LIS or EHR.
Plan and coordinate software upgrades for interfaced customers, working with the Abbott Technical Consultant team, customers, and vendors.
Provide ongoing support to customers using connectivity solutions for POC instrumentation.
Establish standard operating procedures in collaboration with interdepartmental teams (Marketing, Technical Support, software development, Informatics, etc.).
Triage customer questions and concerns, engaging appropriate internal teams for support.
Present complex systems to end-users and stakeholders in understandable terms.
Build robust internal and external professional networks and relationships with customers to create a portfolio of resource accounts for each solution and LIS/EHR.
Strive for continuous improvement through local process enhancements and sharing best practices, introducing innovative ideas to mature project planning, execution, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Information Technology, or Business Analyst with IT focus from an accredited college or university or directly equivalent degree.
5 years of professional experience.
Experience with customer relations, interacting with customers (internal or external) and achieving customer satisfaction.
Adept at using PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM (Salesforce.com)
Experience using data to inform performance and areas for improvement.
Proven excellence in customer service, training and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to travel 25% in the US to customer sites and onsite in Lake Forest, IL.
Preferred Qualifications
Management, supervisory, POCC, or LIS Analyst experience
Advanced degrees and/or Sales experience preferred.
Familiarity with infectious disease, point-of-care testing, the diagnostic industry and an understanding of sales is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments with minimal guidance in an accurate, dependable manner and manage projects and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working with all levels of employees in the organization and exceptional communication skills and presentation skills, highly organized, collaborative and detail oriented
Experience connecting POC devices to middleware and LIS systems.
General understanding of the technical aspects of networking (HL7, ASTM)

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
