SUMMARY

Examines, evaluates, and decisions applications from both the direct and indirect channels. Direct loan applications consist of autos, credit cards, personal lines of credit, recreational vehicles, signature term product, home equity and home equity lines of credit. Indirect loan applications consist of auto and recreation products. This is a decision making position that requires a strong service orientation, strong communication skills, and a self-confident personality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews, evaluates and decisions loan applications from both the direct and indirect channels. Evaluation consist of properly using tools to mitigate risk with the decision.

Analyzes credit data and financial statements of the applicant to determine credit-worthiness and the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money; considers property valuation in decisioning as appropriate.

Ensures application data is complete into Credit Union system as required.

Loan decisions are made within specified limits.

Accountable for the performance of individual loan portfolio.

Interacts with Dealers and Dealer Representatives regarding decisions and unusual situations.

Knowledgeable of lending policies and procedures.

Knowledgeable of the features and benefits of all other Credit Union loan products and services to enable effective cross-selling.

Knowledgeable of all lending peripheral products including, but not limited to, Credit Life/Disability, GAP, Vehicle Service Contracts.

Uses loan origination system to generate financial ratios to evaluate member financial status.

Provides consultant services on credit issues and quality to other departments.

Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.

Recommends changes to upper management regarding credit-related policies and procedures.

Maintains current knowledgeable of all lending software and programs.

Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

Must be able to work flexible shifts whether it is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm or 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Monday through Friday and at least two Saturday’s per month. Must be able to work single holidays on rotating basis.

The pay range for this position is $ 30.63 - $ 38.29 /hr. and based on relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree from four-year College or University; and three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
