Job Overview:
APTIM is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Geologist to support our exciting portfolio of projects. This position would be for APTIMs Solid Waste Services Division, with regional hubs in Concord, CA; Dallas, TX; Pittsburgh, PA and St. Louis, MO. We provide the following services to both the public and private sectors:
Local siting and zoning,
Facility design and permitting,
Stormwater modeling and management plan development,
Construction oversight,
Operations and maintenance,
Hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations,
Environmental compliance audits,
Facility closure and redevelopment plans,
Solid waste planning and public education, and
Environmental site assessments and remediation.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparing site investigation plans and sampling plans for the characterization of soils, rock and groundwater on a site.
Preparing groundwater monitoring plans
Performing statistical analysis calculations
Preparing reports and specifications, supporting facility design and permitting
Conducting field inspections, soil, leachate and groundwater sampling and testing, and construction quality assurance
Performing the physical work and the ability to lift 50 pounds will be required
Understanding applicable regulatory requirements
Performing detailed technical analyses of complex issues
Developing scopes and budgets
Providing investigation oversight
Collaborating with other team members
Assisting project managers
Attending client meetings
Providing other duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
BS/MS Geology or Geological Engineering
4 to 8 years of experience
Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects
Excellent oral & written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Self-starter and problem solver
Excellent organizational skills
Develops competence in own area by performing routine work
Geologist in Training (GIT) designation from the ASBOG
Experience in ArcGIS
OSHA 40 — hour training plus required refreshers
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, a plus
Knowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projects, a plus
Professional/Registered Geologist (PG/RG) License, a plus
