Building System Operator (Fire Alarm)

Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems.
Conduct tests to ensure system functionality including detectors, signals, and pumps.
Perform preventative maintenance to reduce false alarms and malfunctions.
Troubleshoot and repair deficiencies identified during testing.
Drain down sprinkler systems for updates as needed.
Disable detection systems for ongoing construction projects.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date as-built drawings and note discrepancies.
Ensure repair and replacement supplies are available.
Promote a safe work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (required).
Completion of two years of relevant technical/vocational coursework or equivalent experience (preferred).
Fire alarm/fire suppression certification (preferred).
2-4 years of experience.
Knowledge of basic electrical and circuitry for fire alarm systems.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems.
Familiarity with facility codes and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility with work schedule, including off-hours and weekends.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, with physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
