Open Door Family Medical Centers has been serving low-income, under-served residents and those lacking access to health care in the communities of Westchester and Putnam counties for more than 40 years, providing high quality primary health care and human services at affordable prices.Open Door is seeking one full-time Housekeeper for its Family Medical Centers in Ossining, NY. The Housekeeper will report to the Housekeeper Supervisor. All Open Door Family Medical Centers are located in Westchester and Putnam counties located just North of New York City, which offer excellent schools, easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities, and superb transportation connections to New York City.ResponsibilitiesCleans and sanitizes patient exam rooms, hallways, waiting areas, bathrooms and other areas.Maintains Center by cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing.Keeps supplies ready by restocking housekeeping supplies; notifies supervisor if new supplies are needed.Empties wastebaskets, and transports other trash and waste to disposal area.Replenishes supplies, such as bathroom items.Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers.Maintains furnishings by dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning and polishing glass surfaces.Cleans stairways and elevators on a regularly scheduled basis.Follows cleaning procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Procedures Manual.Works cooperatively with the maintenance and housekeeping staff.Appropriately discards hazardous waste from the exam rooms and replenishes sharp containers as needed.RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredAble to read, write and speak English2 Years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.Familiar with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques.Knowledge of Infection Control techniques.Patient and polite and able to interact effectively with other personnel.Capable of understanding and working within departmental operations.Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 30 pounds.Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling climbing, stretching, and possess finger/hand dexterity.Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment.Must be flexible with schedule and able to work additional hours if neededPerfect attendance and punctuality
Minimum Salary: 18.00
Maximum Salary: 19.50
Salary Unit: Hourly
