Position: Physical Therapist

We are currently seeking dedicated Physical Therapists to join our team. In this role, you will assess residents upon admission and develop and administer therapy plans aimed at managing their conditions, preventing further disabilities, and achieving long-term health benefits. Your primary focus will be to promote movement, reduce pain, and prevent disability through various therapeutic techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate Residents: Assess residents’ conditions and create personalized physical rehabilitation plans.

Enhance Mobility: Assist residents in improving their mobility and functionality.

Pain Management: Use exercises, hands-on therapy, stretching, and physical therapy devices to relieve pain.

Equipment Training: Teach residents how to effectively use physical therapy equipment.

Supervise and Monitor: Guide residents through their therapy tasks and monitor their performance.

Educate on Recovery: Inform residents about what to expect during different stages of their recovery and how to manage each situation.

Maintain Confidentiality: Protect resident confidence by keeping information confidential.

Supervise Assistants: Oversee the activities of physical therapy assistants as needed.

Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Regulatory Compliance: Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.

Team Collaboration: Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts in resident care.

Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.

Licensing: Current New York State PT License.

Experience: Previous experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings is preferred.
