Description: KBR is seeking an experienced Registered Architect to support the design and construction of a variety of projects. The registered Architect must be experienced in a wide variety of conventional and moderately complex architectural assignments by applying architectural design standards, practices, and techniques. The candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision and will be responsible for recognizing project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team. The candidate will function as a Project Manager as well.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Government security clearance

Responsibilities:

• Design, specification and services related to the built environment such as public and administrative buildings, residential, living quarters, control rooms, maintenance facilities, research facilities, electrical substation, etc.

• Supervise and lead a group of engineers, provide technical direction over the group and be responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals & supervise personnel assigned to projects through subordinate leaders

• Plan, budget, organize, and control an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program or an entire engineering program of moderate scope

• Measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget

• Provide technical guidance, review of design drawings, and management of design services operations ranging from proposal creation, work plan creation, client relations, oversight, design reviews, construction documentation/specification development, QA/QC, technical excellence review and fee development to management of performance

• Perform code analysis, construction phase shop drawing review and assembly of requests for proposals, change orders and closeout documentation

• Bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of a project

• Responsible for all phases of project planning and execution on large-sized (typically less than $200 million total installed cost) domestic and international projects

• Day-to-day contact and communication with the client and focus on providing client satisfaction

• Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly

• Performing field related work, collecting design information, and verifying designs for tie-ins, function, and clearances to existing facility

• Ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget

• Assist in the preparation of project reports for management, client, or others

• Working with the BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results and incorporate new design into the existing facility models

• Check the accuracy and quality of drawings developed by drafters

• Produce quality drawings

• Assist in presenting 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field

• 10 to 15 years of relevant industrial experience

• Proven success in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts

• Proficiency in Revit, CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design

• Ability to create accurate construction documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings

• Knowledge and understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines & of schedule constraints

• Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks

• Strong technical & communications skills (both verbal & written) plus a background in quality control measures

• Ability to make presentations to clients and others

• Must be a Registered Architect

Preferred Experience, & Skills:

• Registered Architect preferred

• REVIT proficiency is preferred

Basic Compensation:

$131,200 – $196,800

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
