Sous Chef

River Dunes Marina and Harbor Club is looking to fill a Sous Chef role. River Dunes Marina and Harbor Club boasts 14 miles of pristine waterfront, award-winning coastal architecture and a top-rated marina, situated in an unparalleled location on the Pamlico Sound, Intracoastal Waterway and the mouth of the Neuse River.
The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in the day-to-day culinary operations including menu creation and food production, food purchasing, maintenance of quality standards, maintaining food cost, and supervises storage, stocking, and sanitation procedures. The Sous Chef also assists in the management and ongoing training and development of kitchen personnel, scheduling staff work hours, and performance reviews.
Education, Experience and Knowledge
– High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
– Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred.
– Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
– Safe Food Handling Certification.
Must be reliable, have a good work ethic and positive/friendly outlook, excellent customer service skills, strong computer skills, and able to lead a team. Background checks are required.
