About the Role
Welders are responsible to inspect and repair welds (as needed) to ensure quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed our customer requirements, while supporting the Magna Employee’s Charter and the policies and procedures of BGM.
Your Responsibilities
1. Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
2. Perform other duties as required.
3. Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles, including:

2. Abide by BGM policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Team Member Handbook.
3. Open Door Policy – Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication.

5. Safety First – Obey the plant’s safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.

7. Core values – Treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company values.
8. Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required.
9. Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility.
4. Responsible for visual inspection (and repairs if needed) of all welds and weld quality.
5. Perform minor repairs/adjustments to mig welders.
6. Maintain integrity of weld quality to ensure finished product meets BGM standards.
7. Maintain proper documentation of scrap and rework product.
8. Follow Standard Operating Procedures established for each work station.
9. Maintain integrity of quality to ensure finished product meets BGM standards, to include the changing of weld tips, wire spools, and cleaning of nozzles to ensure efficiency of weld robots.
10. Maintain proper documentation of production.

Who we are looking for
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED
Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to pass and maintain welding proficiency
Must be able to detect and repair (within cycle times) all weld defects within your zone
Understanding of weld terminology
Your preferred qualifications
Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
