Summary:
Support various aspects of Finance and Accounting through ensuring compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and systems of internal control while conforming to established policies of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety and quality standards.
  • Initiate or suggest ideas for cost control for all departments based on financial data and support continuous improvement efforts in all areas including quality and environmental, health and safety.
  • Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Cost accounting for the department
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, FASB, JSOX), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
  • Complete compliance requirements for Tax deadlines and Government Questionnaires
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
  • Ensure control of confidential information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and 5-10 years of accounting/finance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • ERP system experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions:

(b). perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, persuading or speaking with others;
(c). respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
