Organization Overview:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Design & Transformation and supports the Group/Senior Vice Presidents of the Manufacturing Networks and Global Supply Chain for assigned platforms and technologies. Global Manufacturing consists of over 20 internal sites and 50 external suppliers throughout the world to manufacture and supply medicine to over 60 million patients worldwide. Global Manufacturing represents approximately 10,000 employees, multiple major initiatives, and supports the Lilly Diabetes and Obesity, Immunology, Neuroscience, Loxo@Lilly, and International businesses.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, communicate, and advance the global manufacturing strategy within and outside the Global Manufacturing organization through supply chain network design recommendations. Position requires deep expertise within supply chain and manufacturing strategy.
Prepare and maintain capacity models for existing products and the pipeline of new products.
Develop global capacity plans, product sourcing/supply chain design, resource allocation/capital project justification for major initiatives, and scenario analysis to increase supply chain resiliency.
Support network governance, including operational and metric reporting, and various operational business processes.
Coordinate and lead the Strategic Plan and Business Plan through data collection, analysis, consensus building and preparation of associated materials.
Serve as liaison between manufacturing and development for relevant platforms and product portfolios as to their impact on manufacturing strategy and capacity management.
Support the evaluation of business development opportunities through due diligence and modeling, coordination of activity across manufacturing functions, and collaboration with the businesses (Lilly Diabetes and Obesity, International, Immunology, Oncology, Neuroscience) & Corporate Business Development.
Coordinate and implement key transformational projects, including capital initiatives, technology transfers, and site mission changes.
Prepare materials on behalf of global Manufacturing for a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including the Manufacturing Lead Team, Executive Committee, Lilly Board of Directors, Businesses, external/third parties and alliances.
Collaborate with internal and external sites within the network, Development, Businesses and Corporate functional groups.
Accountable for the digitalization and optimization of processes for the Manufacturing Strategy team, including the automation and integration of Sourcing models, Long Range scenario tools, and the enhancement of learning and onboarding tools for all Supply Chain strategic roles.
Lead the onboarding process of new Strategists assigned to the Manufacturing Networks, serve as mentor & coach for rotational talent and as point instructor in strategy learning sessions offered to leaders across M&Q.
Responsible for the orchestration of business cases and documents required for Board of Director approval ($200M) and the synchronization of activities that support Strategic and Business Plan exercises for the M&Q organization.
Serve as M&Q liaison in geopolitical and strategic industry forums, including representing M&Q in assessments focused on external, environmental topics in collaboration with Finance, Corporate Communications, and Legal Counsel teams.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Science, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent experience is required. An MBA or relevant business expertise is preferred.
Additional skills:
10 years plus experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Financial Strategy, Network Design roles or a combination of the two.
Strategic thinking, high learning agility, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prepare complex analysis.
Experience in digitalization efforts, financial modeling, and probabilistic scenario tools.
Effective diagnosis of needs, action planning, implementation, and a bias for action.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a cross functional environment and deliver operational improvement.
Prior experience with Strategic and/or Business Planning activities.
Demonstrated ability to influence a broad range of levels, functions, and stakeholders. This includes effective use of verbal, written, and presentation tools.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, corporate business processes, portfolio, pipeline commercialization, supply chain, and financial analysis tools.
Prior experience supporting business, corporate, and global functions.
Additional Information:
Travel up to 20%.
