General Function:
As a Beauty Manager, this position will be responsible for setting the department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and overall profitability. You will coordinate the delivery of the most innovative and best quality product at a competitive retail price to customers and stay current on trends in each product category to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Additionally you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
Generates a friendly atmosphere by encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers; providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers and sets a good example.
Sets the department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and overall profitability.
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible. Assists customers by: (examples include)
escorting them to the products they’re looking for
securing products that are out of reach
loading or unloading heavy items
making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests
performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.
Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates all department employees.
Determines department goals with store director.
Stays current on trends in each product category and educates customers by offering suggestions, answering questions, etc.
Determines weekly work schedule and establishes a daily work plan for the department.
Sets and maintains standards on department experience with a focus on signage and impactful merchandising on displays.
Tracks proper rotation of products, checks for expired code dating, and orders merchandise for replenishment.
Handles and satisfies customer issues.
Communicates with employees regarding sales and ideas.
Figures retail pricing and ensure correct pricing.
Ensures pricing is competitive in the market area
Analyzes weekly and monthly sales and trends and compares to actuals, prepares ad projections, and writes ads.
Plans displays, promotions, and determines pre-orders.
Determines sanitation guidelines and procedures and ensures compliance.
Operates cash register accurately and scans product, (where applicable) and reports improper cash levels in cash drawer.
Fills displays, checks in delivered merchandise, and works in the sales area.
Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Attends meetings and seminars and participates in continuing education.
Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area.
Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent experience and over one year up to three years of similar or related work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Must be able to report, write, or edit articles for publication; prepare and deliver presentations; interview counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Instructing, reviewing, and planning the work of others. Maintaining standards, coordinating the activities of others and acts on employee problems.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force.
Visual requirements include clarity of vision at distance of less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
The following physical activities are necessary to perform this job: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
This position is exposed to dirt, noise, and equipment movement hazards on a daily basis. Has occasional exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, electrical shock and chemicals/solvents. This is a fast pace work environment.

Telephone, fax, copier, cash register, intercom system, pallet jacks, forklift, trash compactor, cardboard compactor, box cutter, knives, computer, calculator, printer, wireless devices, internet, RPM system and Microsoft Office products
