Our Emergency Services Resource Pool offers you the opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center, Cardiac Designated, and Primary Stroke Accredited Emergency Department. We provide next level care for critically ill patients, and care for lower acuity patients on the Observation Unit, Flex Unit, and Medical Short Stay Unit. You will develop skills that allow you to care for patients in a variety of settings and have the opportunity to grow and advance in your nursing career. We continue to develop and expand our Emergency Services and advance emergency nursing.

Rotation of worktime in the ED, ED-Obs, Flex Unit, and Short Stay Unit.

Fast paced, high-pressure environments that care for a wide variety of acutely ill and short stay/low-risk populations.

The Emergency Services Float Pool is designed to help fill short-term needs within the emergency services service line.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Emergency intervention and triage of patients to the appropriate setting.

Rapid triage assessment and reassessment of new arrivals

Provide emergency intervention and care for lower acuity patients while in RWP.

Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.

Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patients plan of care from admission to discharge.

Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.

Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.

Participates in monitoring quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.

Act as 1) mentor; 2) clinician; 3) educator; 4) consultant/collaborator; and 5) navigator.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York .

Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.

Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.

Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.

Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Occasional exposure to conditions which may be considered particularly disagreeable to sight, touch, sound, smell & tastes; May encounter fumes, orders, dusts, mists & gases, along with biohazards / hazards (mechanical, electrical, burns, chemicals, radiation, sharp objects, etc.); Occasionally subject to noise, infectious waste, diseases & conditions.

Includes the need to be physically & mentally capable to perform nursing processes.

Team Leader, Clinical Coordinator, Unit Manager, and Clinical Services/Nursing Administration.

Pay Range: $39.65- $56.95

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
