Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Engineer to support our localized OPCOs in various telecommunications initiatives. This role involves both Business as Usual (BAU) work/upgrades and project-based tasks, such as delivering fiber to tower gateway base stations, substations, and distribution substations for ADMS technologies. The position is part of the Operations team and focuses on supporting and providing guidance during the deployment phases of these projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Support telecommunications initiatives across multiple OPCOs
Perform BAU work and upgrades on telecommunications systems.
Participate in project-based tasks, such as delivering fiber to tower gateway base stations and substations.
Assist in installing and replacing aged DC power plants within telecommunications systems in substations and Microwave/Wireless Shelters.
Provide operational support for completed programs/projects.
Offer guidance and insight during various phases of telecommunications deployments.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in telecommunications engineering, particularly in an operational support role.
Familiarity with fiber optic technologies, ADMS, and DC power systems.
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure within substations and Microwave/Wireless Shelters.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Exelon or similar utility companies.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in telecommunications engineering.
Project management experience.
