As the Materials Manager, you will oversee all aspects of inventory control to ensure a steady flow of materials for production needs. Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, you will manage inventory control staff, coordinate supply chain activities, maintain vendor relationships, and optimize inventory levels.

You Will:

Maintain high performance standards for customer shipments.

Manage shipping, receiving, planning, and inventory control staff.

Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve material control, reduce costs, and enhance processes.

Plan and coordinate cost-effective procurement, inventory control, and quality control of production materials.

Ensure delivery and balanced inventory levels to avoid out-of-stock issues and support production schedules.

Establish and maintain optimal inventory turns, eliminating backorders and past-due backlogs.

Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to forecast new product timelines and maintain a rolling 90-day inventory forecast to manage stock levels and cash flow.

Lead Planning personnel in using a Master Production Schedule and Material Requirements Planning System.

Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices, ensuring conformance with company policies.

Assign procurement tasks to team members and arrange for disposal of surplus materials.

You Have:

Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lean or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

Skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business and technical documents.

Capacity to present information to various audiences.

Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts, including statistical analysis and geometry.

Experience with ERP systems, database software, internet tools, and Microsoft 365.

Ability to travel about 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
