CNC Machinist | Contract to Hire

Job Description

Operate machinery and move materials (physically or with equipment) to machine materials based on pre-set programs or settings. Interface with machine(s) to make simple and intermediate adjustments in settings, tools, or fixturing to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions with limited or no assistance. Utilize gages and measuring equipment to ensure products meet specifications. Recognize and report gage and calibration issues. Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation. Meet established safety, quality, performance standards to ensure production schedules are met. Record accurate information on Manufacturing Order, Quality Check Sheets, and other paperwork. Perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances. Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Report adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance with escalation procedure. Adhere to daily 5S standards and recommend improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc. Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. May be required to learn multiple types of machines. Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 18 Week(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Solon, Ohio.

Work Environment

3rd shift: 11pm-7am with a $1.50 shift differential. Must be open to working Saturdays and Sundays (Sundays are double-time) – 2 weekends a month. This is primarily a stamping facility where they make fasteners for the steel industry. The company has undergone positive changes recently and while there has been some turnover, multiple employees have been with the company for over 20 years.
