Position Summary:

A Corrections Officer II is responsible for assisting with the public
safety by exercising safe and effective containment and supervision of
offenders, by managing offenders in the community, and by actively
encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens. This
position is full performance corrections work involving control and
supervision of adult male felons in a correctional facility. Duties
involve enforcement of rules and regulations controlling offenders in
living, work or recreational areas; ensuring safety and security of
staff offenders, and the public; and serving as the officer-in-charge.
