Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

Day shift material handling and forklift operation. Hours are 7am to 3:30pm. Responsibilities include stacking, handling, and moving products/skids throughout the plant, including finished products, materials, scrap, trash, and equipment safely and without damage. You will organize and stage WIP inventory in secondary operations to facilitate production. This position involves basic data entry and some computer work. You need to perform simple mathematics to record and maintain tally sheets, inventory sheets, inventory tags, and scrap weights. This is a contract-to-hire position that could lead to a permanent role in Final Packaging on 3rd shift (7pm to 7am) with a rotating schedule (4 nights one week and 3 nights the next week).

Hard Skills

Operate a sit-down forklift

Pass the tow motor operation test

Read and understand reel tags, scrap tags, and tally sheets

Move and layout materials and products for manufacturing

Count and record amounts accurately

Collect and dispose of purge, scrap, and trash

Basic data entry and computer familiarity

Simple mathematics for inventory management

This is a contract position with a duration of 5 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

A very clean production facility, climate-controlled, but can still get warm. The company makes copper cable/wire. Safety-toed boots or shoes are required at all times, including during the interview tour. The company has a dress code. Once the position moves fully to New Holland, contractors work a 12-hour shift and are paid for all 12 hours. Breaks are taken as a relief person goes around to relieve each employee in an area, and may not be at the exact same time every night.
