This Sr Manager will stand-up and supervise a team of employees who install, maintain, and repair industrial processing and manufacturing equipment in a newly constructed, advanced manufacturing facility located in Waynesboro, VA. This position will have oversite of multiple shifts. This position will coordinate with manufacturing, engineering and management personnel to ensure that manufacturing equipment is properly installed, maintained and in ready status. The successful candidate will create and execute preventive maintenance plans and will ensure that machinery and equipment metrics achieve a high level of performance, will communicate readiness, will drive execution of repair and will engage a highly skilled team to achieve high customer satisfaction. The primary responsibilities are to form and lead the team of technicians and to plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of product line machinery and equipment.
This position will start out in Charlottesville, VA for approximately 1 year and then will be located in Waynesboro, VA once the new facility is available.
Responsibilities include the following:
Create and support a Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Program for machinery and equipment, including developing a right-sized team of technicians, and identifying and stocking of critical replacement parts.
Assist in the installation of machinery and equipment as the new site is established, and when new machinery and equipment is required.
Lead and coordinate Root Cause and Corrective Action of machine and equipment failures.
Communicate daily status of machine and equipment downtime and repair activities.
Drive initiatives that lead to increased machine and equipment uptime performance.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors degree AND 8 years of related experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production OR a masters AND 6 years of related experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production.
Must have 5 or more years of team lead/ and or supervisory of people
Experience working in a Manufacturing facility providing support to teams working multiple shifts
Must have extensive experience in a manufacturing environment working with industrial manufacturing machinery, production and test related equipment
Must have 5 or more years’ experience maintaining mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified, or significant Lean Manufacturing experience.
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelors degree (STEM or Management)
Leadership experience in Continuous Improvement processes such as World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or Similar
Prior experience installing and maintaining heavy industrial, automated and/ or manufacturing equipment
Troubleshooting experience with PLC Logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE)
Thorough knowledge of electrical schematics and technical drawings
Experience in aerospace/defense industry operating under AS9100 Quality certification
Familiarity with Digital Thread concepts
Familiarity with Theory of Constraints
Familiarity with state-of-the-art ERP/MES, and connected equipment software systems
Strong Machine Tool Knowledge.
Digital communications skills: able to synthesize multi-media content to communicate complex manufacturing organization & performance data to an array of audiences.
Salary Range: $117,300 – $175,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
