Space Systems is looking for an Associate Data Scientist to join the Launch Vehicles business unit within the Mission Assurance team located in Chandler, AZ.

This position requires the incumbent to work on-site at our Chandler campus that features engineering, office and state-of -the-art manufacturing space.

You will be part of a team that supports all of Launch Vehicles, its sibling business units and sector level initiatives. Work may vary with shifting priorities based on business needs.

The Associate Data Scientist will:

– Create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.

– Conduct Analysis utilizing many applications to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization. Requires strong statistical and data visualization skills.

– Create/maintain documentation of all aspects or work duties, applications, charts, training, etc. related to any tasks within the scope of responsibilities or assignment.

– Generate monthly CAB metrics, Supplier Scorecards, support QA Call Board.

– Create and maintain digital solutions that support Chandler/Space Sector initiatives for digital transformation.

– Able to work/collaborate with a team to develop/maintain existing products/applications and supporting documentation

– Able to innovate new solutions and applications from ground up to full implementation.

– Must be able to take verbal feedback and determine how to implement it into the tools/applications to provide desired results to requestors

-Must be able to analyze data, determine causes for discrepancies or areas of improvement, offer alternative solutions and implement them

Works primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the section or group. May be called in to groups or meetings with high level participants. Communication of applications, skills, supporting documentation and demonstration of tools may be required.

Typical work week is 9/80A schedule. General hours are day shift, core hours of 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Hours for monthly metric generation and review will need to be flexible and could require flex schedule some evenings.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelors degree with 1 year of related work experience.

Intermediate level experience in Tableau and Excel is required.

Experience using SQL databases and tools to extract necessary information for Tableau charts required.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

No clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with 2 years of experience is preferred.

Ability to code in Python/SQL a plus.

Salary Range: $68,500 – $102,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
