Overview

As an IT Developer Lead, youll collaborate with customers to design and build scalable, flexible, and resilient information system for our client. Your role involves addressing customer business challenges and accelerating the adoption of newer technologies and services. Youll also provide advice on migrating existing workloads to our new cloud-based application. This role is critical in shaping our technology roadmap and ensuring our systems are modern, scalable and efficient.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Duties):

  • Lead the architectural design and implementation of new systems and technology upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure integrity, quality, and security of core platforms that include custom developed web application, web portals, back-end batch processes and MS Dynamics CRM solution.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for software developers, focusing on technical architecture, design, development, and successful delivery.
  • Lead development team through all phases of the product life cycle, including project estimates, technical specifications, requirements analysis, software design and development, testing (unit, functional, systems), integration, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for team adherence to design, coding and documentation standards.
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining code, in addition to supervising the daily operations of the development team.
  • Actively conduct code reviews and facilitate peer code reviews to enhance quality.
  • Ensure that software applications are properly tested and meet quality standards.
  • Integrate websites and digital solutions with back-end and/or external systems and databases.
  • Manages daily support, maintenance, and problem resolution across the clients application portfolio; troubleshoot and debug software issues as needed.
  • Mentor software developers and other team members to grow their technical skills.
  • Work closely with product owner and cross-functional teams to align technological solutions with business goals.
  • Research new technologies and create software architecture strategies to meet defined business objectives including but not limited to UI framework upgrade, cloud migration/deployment, etc..
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies that can enhance TRCs technical services and elevate customer service offerings.
  • Drive the definition and implementation of development processes and best practices to streamline delivery of quality products and services utilizing an Agile methodology.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal team and external partners/clients.
  • Balance business/client-driven requests against internal technology and critical platform initiatives amidst resource constraints.
  • Manage IT budget for resources, products and services related to client contract.
  • Manage analysis and negotiation for external services and/or third-party products, and the related contract approvals.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are those an applicant must possess to be considered a candidate for the position.

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in computer/technology-related field.
  • Required to be in the TRC New Brunswick, NJ office twice a month.
  • Minimum of 10 years of application development experience in an IT organization that developed and maintained systems that are mission critical for business execution.
  • Experience leading system architecture, software design, development, and testing of software solutions in an agile environment.
  • Experience providing oversight of multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a cooperative spirit collaborating with other team members to foster an innovative, problem-solving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Java 1.8/Spring Boot/MVC (5 years)
    • Hibernate (3 years)
    • Tomcat or similar server (3 years)
    • Web Development (JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS, HTML5/CSS) (5 years)
    • Object Oriented Design (5 years)
    • Oracle 19c, PL/SQL (3 years)
    • Cloud knowledge (AWS and/or Azure) (3years)
    • MS Dynamics CRM (or similar CRM experience)
    • Experience in data analysis, quality verification and cleansing.
  • Proven attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with team members and supervisor.
  • Promotes an image of a high-quality organization through expertise and responsiveness.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a rapid development environment and flexible hours.
  • Experience executing within and promoting an Agile environment and using JIRA

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are not required for an applicant to be considered a candidate for the position.

  • Write Proof of Concept applications to demonstrate concept of operations.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Energy Efficiency Domain a plus.
  • Preferred Technical Experience:
    • MS SQL
    • Other Web development (Angular, .NET, React)
    • Other issue tracking/project management systems
    • Support development and operations in hybrid (cloud and on-prem) environments
    • Cloud migration experience

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Companys annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
