What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the PMO Governance & Compliance Analyst Position

As a PMO Governance & Compliance Analyst you will work across departments and programs to ensure collaboration, communication, visibility, and successful delivery of roughly half of Colonial’s large-scale capital and expense project portfolio. The PMO Governance & Compliance Analyst is responsible for effectively delivering business results, enhancing program/project management, business process management and improvement of capabilities within the groups of assigned responsibility. This role is also responsible for providing training and support to project managers as they navigate the governance process(es) and associated systems. In this role you will also support core business needs and transformative growth initiatives, while monitoring the efficiency of the current process landscape and execute processes that inject appropriate value-based control to meet the Board and Leadership’s expectations.

What You Get to Do:

Manage a centralized intake and prioritization process aligned with our key business strategies and goals to effectively manage our project/program inventory.

Coordinate with Project Support functions to conduct challenge sessions for Technical Services and Operations projects; report outcomes of challenge sessions for project review.

Provide support to project managers in developing deliverables to enable successful navigation through the stage gate process from ideation to execution.

Develop a strong project/program governance foundation for internal resources to ensure project managers can effectively deliver projects in alignment with the company’s business objectives.

Monitor key performance indicators established for programs and project governance.

Act as a reference point for governance and PMO CoE queries and information and as an advocate for best practices in project management.

Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and support training activities for enterprise project management tools.

What You Bring to the Table:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with an emphasis in finance, business administration, economics, technology, engineering, or related field experience; will consider a combination of experience and/ or education.

Ideally, 5 years of progressive experience in operations, finance/accounting, and/or project management to include demonstrated experience with process improvement.

Strong project management framework experience relating to scope, budget, resourcing, stakeholder engagement, risk, quality, and controls.

In depth knowledge of the Project and Program lifecycle.

Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
